FROM YOUR STORY
TO THE BOOKSHELF.

BRIEF. CONCEPT. REFINE. FINISH.

1. BRIEF

TELL US YOUR STORY.

We’ll start with the essentials: your title, author name, a brief overview of your book, who it’s for, and where you are in the publishing process.

You don’t need to come to us with a cover concept. Tell us what matters about the book and give us room to explore.

If there is a particular direction, image, or element that’s important to you, let us know. We’ll keep it in mind while developing ideas of our own.

2. CONCEPT

LET US SHOW YOU WHAT WE SEE.

This is where your story starts taking visual form.

We’ll develop four original cover concepts, each exploring a direction we believe could represent your book. If you’ve asked us to explore a specific idea, we can include that among the concepts while also showing you possibilities you may not have considered.

Initial concepts are typically presented within 1 to 2 weeks.

3. REFINE

FIND THE ONE.

Take some time with your concepts and decide which direction feels right for your book. If you’d like another perspective, we recommend sharing them privately with one or two people whose judgment you trust.

Because these are working concepts created specifically for your project, we ask that they remain private during the design process rather than being posted publicly, shared on social media, or used for online polls or voting.

Once you’ve chosen your direction, we’ll refine it with you through up to three rounds of revisions. Typography, color, imagery and other details can be adjusted as we bring the final cover into focus.

4. FINISH

READY.

READY FOR THE BOOKSHELF.

Once your cover is finalized, we’ll prepare the finished files for the formats and publishing platform included in your project.

For print covers, we’ll use your final page count and the specifications from your printer or publishing platform to build the spine, back cover, or dust jacket.

Your finished files will be ready to upload, and we’ll also provide two 3D promotional mockups you can use when it’s time to share your book with the world.
